Grand Hyatt Singapore: Epicurean Festive Dining 2015

Christmas at Grand Hyatt has always been a very intimate cosy affair. Nothing as grandiose as the past #livinggrand events but would surely connect to the guests who are looking for a subtle lavish dining experience this festive season.
Slow-roasted whole christmas tom turkey
(approx. 5kg), turkey gravy, cranberry chutney ($158 for takeaway/approx. 5kg)

With so many different choices across its 4 restaurants, let me recommend some of the items that are worth enjoying with your friends and families. Over at Mezza9 where the repertoire of dishes are heavily influenced by the flavors of Europe, there are mouth-watering roasts such as Slow Roasted Turkey Breast with Apple and Chestnut Stuffing as well as the succulent and flavorful Ham that has set very high standards for Christmas meats this year.
Mezza9 sushi and sashimi selection ($62~$108 for takeaway) and Brioche baked Sustainable New Zealand King Salmon Fillet ($132 for takeaway/approx 1.5kg)

The buffet and brunch selection would not be complete without the sustainable seafood on ice that Dutch Bamboo Clams and Fin De Claire Oysters or the fresh sustainable sashimi from the Japanese theatre kitchen. Steamed Boston Lobsters, poached Alaskan Crab will also be serve at 10 Scotts iconic two tier glass tray for Christmas Eve buffet and Christmas Day Afternoon Tea.
Alternatively, there is also the ala carte menu that is available from 1st to 25th December. Highlights include the Smoked Mackerel Scotch Egg with Horseradish Veloute ($22++) as well as Wood-Roasted Duck Breast with Young Carrots, Parsnip and Orange.

Desserts are a must at Grand Hyatt and I always look forward to the new log cakes from the pastry kitchen every year. Besides the superbly fluffy red velvet cake ($58) that is dressed in sweet chocolate frosting that is as red as Santa's suit, there is also the luscious Caramel Chestnut Yule Log Cake ($68). Sandwiched in between the hazelnut sponge  and crispy feuilettine is a layer of fig jam which added unique character to the cake.

These are available for takeaway at the Santa Shop where you can order a full list of gourmet delights for your christmas or new year gathering. The menu can be found here
Panettone ($38/for 800g each)
But at the end of the day, we still yearn for the classic old hits such as Christmas Cookies, Christmas truffles and Stollen. My personal favourite is their homemade Panettone in the Orange almond or Chocolate Flavor. There is no reason why breads cannot be enjoyed as desserts as these were pleasingly tender and feather-light compared to rich X'mas puddings. This is good for takeaway or dine-in as a dessert item at Pete's Place, where you can savour the flavors of authentic Italian cooking for X'mas eve buffet and X'mas day brunch
With so exciting options line up at Grand Hyatt, it's never too early to start planning where you like to go for your X'mas feasting! Click here for more tantalizing details.
